Washing Care

Read First!
  • If the shirt is too long for, wash and then dry on high heat and it will shrink down to a more normal fitting shirt
  • To preserve the shirt, only wash when heavily soiled or at the onset of odor
  • After following these steps, ironing should not be needed. However, if you decide to iron your shirt, its always best to do it inside out

________________________________________________________________________________________________

1.  Turn shirt inside-out.

Washing your clothes inside out protects decorative designs, prevents color fading, reduces pilling, helps avoid odor retention, reduces color bleeding.

2.  Wash on delicate cycle with minimal detergent (coldest and lowest spin setting with only 1 rinse).

A delicate cycle is the equivalent to handwashing. It uses cold water, a slow spin with light agitation, and is the gentlest cleaning cycle. 100% cotton is bound to shrink in heat, therefore, it is imperative that cold water is used.

3.  Once the cycle has finished, put the shirt on a hanger through the bottom of the shirt.

Inserting the hanger through the bottom of the shirt alleviates any unwanted stretching of the collar.

4.  Hang the shirt in an open area.

This just gives you space for step 5.

5.  With both hands, grab the shirt from the sides. Proceed to stretch and release repeatedly like a rubber band. This can be done in all areas of the shirt to include the sleeves, collar, and shoulder area.

This will help reshape the shirt to its original form, combat shrinking, and prevent the shirt from being wrinkled by the time it dries.

6.  Swipe the shirt in a downward motion with your hand in all areas of the shirt.

This step will help release any more wrinkles.

7.  Hang in a dark place away from heat and sunlight.

Again, heat shrinks cotton. Therefore, placing the damp shirt in a dark place away from heat sunlight will help keep the shirt from shrinking.
